The BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma / Applied Foundations in Engineering offers an excellent entry point for students and professionals pursuing a career in engineering. Awarded by Pearson, the world’s largest learning company, this qualification covers the key fundamentals of engineering to allow students to grasp firsthand technical knowledge.
This 12-month programme trains students to learn problem solving skills in an actual engineering setting and instill industry skills in order to boost their practical capabilities and employability. Taught by an experienced engineering faculty, the main elements of the course cover mechanical, electrical and electronic principles, engineering design, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and application of devices.
Incorporating a technical and practical module in a well-resourced environment, this qualification covers mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering units that allow students to experience the full scope of engineering, helping them to identify areas of interest and future specializations.
The practical application of engineering concepts and technical skills gained from this qualification gives students a better understanding, and a strong foundation in career options in mechanical, electronic and electrical engineering.
